Robotics with Lego

Students build robots out of LEGO pieces and program them to perform specific tasks. Programming these robots to perform specific behaviors helps students become active, systematic and collaborative learners.

The Gooru Squad

The Gooru Squad is an afterschool club that will develop students who are highly skilled in utilizing Google Apps tools. Students are provided training once a week so that they can provide support to peers and teachers during school hours.

Applet Team

The Applet Team is an after school club that is designed to develop students who are highly skilled in utilizing Apple tools. Students are provided training once a week so that they can provide support to peers and teachers during school hours.

Python Programming Language

4th and 5th grade students learned about basic operators, variables, strings, lists, tuples, and drawing with turtles using the Python programming language.

Arduino

5th graders created circuits and interfaces to interact with their microcontrollers. This involved the use of code, as well as problem-solving and decision-making skills.

This training server is a safe and instructional environment where teachers, student-support specialists, and administrators can practice playing Minecraft.

3rd grader creates his own greeting card using Javascript. This activity was part of Khan Academy's tutorial on programming during Computer Science Education Week.

Electric Circuit with Minecraft

Students learned to identify each component of electrical circuits (power source, load, switch, resistor, electrons, etc.) and describe the function of each component. After becoming content experts, students took on the role of museum curators and created a 3D digital “Electric Circuits” exhibit that people can visit online.

Minecraft Volcano

4th grader creates a "live" volcano with moving lava, vent, magma chamber, and ash cloud.

Google Apps

Students took on the role of Starfleet Academy Cadets who needed to arrange items on the ship’s manifest for teleportation using the physical and chemical properties of matter.
